You Are Called

At Combined Men’s Ministry, we are excited to continue to encourage and edify the men of south Orange County.

Many of us wonder if we’re called. Or if we’re called, how we’re called. Or if we know how we’re called, then where we’re called. The answer is simple.

And as He walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him.

Mark 1:16-18

All of us are called. It tells us in Romans 8:28 that all things work together for good for those who are called [out to meet]. Jesus calls us where we are. In this case Simon and Andrew were at work, they weren’t wondering or even concerned, yet Jesus came to them.

How were they called? Oh, they caught fish day in and day out. Jesus was going to teach them how to do that with people. He always equips the called. Where were they called? Ah, the answer can be found in Acts 1:8.

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

Whether your mission field is San Clemente, Orange County, California, or Mozambique, invite a neighbor, co-worker, or friend to hear an encouraging message of faithfulness in preaching the Good News.
